Report from Congregational Care Pastoral Search Committee

The Congregational Care pastoral search has been unfolding slowly at times but we sense we are in step with God's timing, which allows Pastor Mark's involvement in it.

Prior to Christmas, the committee processed applications and developed a short list of candidates to work with.  Pastor Mark interacted with the committee in some detail, allowing us to interact with every candidate, especially the short list.  The committee and Pastor Mark will meet shortly to plan: then interviews will begin.   

For those wondering about the position, it will focus on the discipleship and fellowship ministry areas, and of course pastoral care, counseling, and visitation are "givens", as are lay training and facilitating all kinds of groups, especially Life Groups.  Can one person do all this?  Only with lots of leadership, delegation and administration as many in the congregation are mobilized to help!   Praise God: Bethany people are known for their willingness to be involved in lay ministry.
